Local Election candidate Thomasina Connell, who is running for Fine Gael in the Portlaoise area, has released a video explaining her credentials and why she should get your Number 1 vote.
A General Election candidate in 2016 when she got almost 4,500 first preference votes,
“I’m running in this area because I feel that those of my generation aren’t represented, those that I meet in my day to day life in my work as a solicitor,” she says in the video.
“I’m ambitious and energetic for Portlaoise and our county of Laois and I want to be a voice for them.
“I’m part of a generation who I believe need to fight for services in our community. I believe we’re a community of diversity now with over 22,000 people living in Portlaoise.
“Our population has risen rapidly over the years but unfortunately amenities and services haven’t matched that population rise.
“Through my work as a solicitor in Portlaoise and the greater county of Laois, I have gained a vast wealth of experience and I feel that will stand to me if elected to Laois County Council and the provision of a huge range of services in this area.
“I’m asking for your Number 1 vote on Friday, May 24, so I can be a modern, enthusiastic voice on Laois County Council to represent our modern society in the Portlaoise-Abbeyleix Municipal District.”
