‘Let’s Talk and Walk’ kicks off this month, which will see a series of community walks take place in Coillte forest parks across the country to promote the Green Ribbon campaign.
The campaign which works to help raise awareness about the importance of removing the stigma surrounding mental health.
Coillte’s Green Ribbon event will take place in the Coillte Forest Park, Emo, on Sunday, 19 May at 3pm.
The Green Ribbon walks provide an opportunity for friends, families and communities to get active and talk about the importance of mental health and Coillte is hoping Laois residents will get involved. The walk will start from Emo GAA car park.
Charles Burke from the Coillte recreation team said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Green Ribbon campaign again this year.
“We believe it promotes a very important message about removing the stigmas surrounding mental health in our communities.
“We want to encourage people to be mindful of their own and others’ mental health and wellbeing while enjoying a walk forest parks and trails throughout the country.
“After the walks we would encourage all participants to stay and enjoy the refreshments and connect.”
