Clarke’s CarePlus Pharmacy arrived on the Rathdowney streetscape one year ago this month.
Owned and managed by the effervescent Elaine Clarke MPSI, the pharmacy has gone from strength to strength and will be celebrating its first birthday this Friday, May 10.
Located in the unit adjacent to the Post Office and counting Breslins SuperValu and Rathdowney Library as some of her neighbors, Elaine says she’s in good company in Rathdowney and is so grateful for the support she has received since taking the risk and opening her own business.
“Going out on your own can be so daunting but I’m delighted with how it’s all going so far. I’ve been blessed with a great welcome, great staff and even better customers!”
The celebrations take place in store at Pound Street, Rathdowney throughout the day with prizes and treats along the way.

Elaine has put much thought and research into the different brands and offerings within the store.
“Outside of the dispensary and prescriptions, skincare is an area I really wanted to put a focus on and I’m so happy to say we are proud stockists of both the Irish skincare range Pestle and Mortar and the Irish organic skincare range Kinvara as well as the French dermo-cosmetic range Uriage.“
Linking in with this, there will be a Uriage skin expert in store on the day offering free skin analysis, consultations and advice.
“We’ll be cutting the cake at 1pm,” says Elaine, “but everyone is welcome to pop in at any stage throughout the day.
“We’re really looking forward to it here and also have another event planned later this month so what this space!”
Clarke’s Careplus Pharmacy is open six days a week catering for all your pharmacy needs.
