The 10th annual Tri Laois organised by the local Trilogy Triathlon Club is set to take place this weekend and there won’t be a road not traveled by these eager enthusiasts.
The Tri Laois will take place on Saturday April 6 with registration at 8am at Portlaoise Leisure Centre.
There are two options for the athletes – the Olympic sprint distance of a 750m swim, a 19.5km cycle and a 5km run or the Try-a-Tri of a shorter 400m swim and the same distance cycle and run.
The race is once again sponsored by Joe Mallon Motors, who last year led the way in a lead car and had a prominent display of very colourful Renault Cars at the finish line.
The event is already sold out with 350 competitors set to take part.
Participants will receive a goodie bag including a Race T-Shirt and Finishers Medal.
Athletes came from all over the country for the event which is incredibly popular and always draws a high number of spectators.
We will be there on the day taking pictures of the event, so if you see us, be sure to stop and get a photo.
