Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision one mile from Ballinabranagh village, Carlow.
Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of the single vehicle road traffic collision.
It occurred at Clogrennane, Ballinabranagh, Co Carlow today, Wednesday, March 2019 at approximately 11.50am.
Five occupants of a car, a man in his 20s and four female youths in their teens have been taken to The Midland Regional Hospital and St Lukes General Hospital Kilkenny.
Two of these with serious injuries.
A technical and forensic examination of the scene is currently underway.
The road remains closed and diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses travelling on the Ballinabranagh Rd between 11.40am and 12.15pm to contact Carlow Garda Station on (059) 9136620 , the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.
