Mountmellick is known for its impressive parade every year on St Patrick’s Day, and this year it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Crowds gathered on the streets as they witnessed another great parade, one that once again encapsulated all that is great about local community life.
A huge crowd got involved in this year’s parade with local clubs and societies taking part.
Among these included many sports clubs, Irish dancing displays, stick men and, of course, vintage vehicles.
Olympian and Portarlington native Nicole Turner and her mum Bernie received a tremendous round of applause and cheers as theyn made their way through the parade in an open-top carriage.
The town was bursting with enthusiasm as live music took over the square and the whole area was just a wave of green, white and orange to highlight the occasion.
The extremely turbulent didn’t stop the crowds from enjoying the day and they happily posed for photos on the day.
