Brought to you in association with Joe Mallon Motors, Portlaoise
As ever, they were up bright and early in Vicarstown for the community’s annual St Patrick’s Day parade.
As is now tradition the Vicarstown parade took place before 9.30am mass with a huge crowd of locals marching from the bridge in the picturesque village to the church.
As well as a huge group of young children from the various community groups in the area, the Grand Marshal was local man Martin Scully who recently celebrated his 90th birthday.
He led the parade in his trusty 1979 tractor, one he is seen in on a regular basis out and about.
After mass all were treated to refreshments in the nearby community hallway.
Across the parish in Timahoe, they had a similar format.
Again there was a wonderful atmosphere despite the blustery weather conditions.
Our photographer Julie Anne Miller was in both villages where she captured a selection of wonderful images.
