Applications are now being accepted for September courses in Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre – and a huge crowd came through the doors at their Open Morning last week.
Portarlington Further Education is part of the Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board and is based on Bracklone Street in Portarlington.
They offer full-time QQI courses and part-time component awards.
They also offer courses linked to Athlone IT, IPA, UCD, ATI, NUI Galway and NUI Maynooth in a wide range of subjects.
Margaret Morrin, who is the Director of Laois Third Level, spoke to LaoisToday about the importance of education.
Morrin said: “The key message for everyone to remember is that it is never too late to return to education.
“We are the only centre that offers full time and part time courses. There is a place for everyone here in Portarlington and I was delighted to see a big crowd over on the day.”
