Five young Laois men are among the newest recruits to have joined the Gardaí.
Luke Doyle, Shane Nerney, Adam O’Toole, John Bowe and Ruslan Nazipov are among those lining out in today’s passing out ceremony at Templemore Garda College, Tipperary.
There must be something in the air around Portarlington and the Ballybrittas area, as three of the recruits come from these parts.
Senior Laois footballer Nerney hails from Killenard and is a proud O’Dempseys man, while Doyle comes from Ballybrittas and plys his trade with Courtwood. Adam O’Toole joins them as recruit from Portarlington.
John Bowe hails from Ballydavis while Ruslan Nazipov lives in Mountmellick.
Their placements were already decided and are all in county Dublin.
Bowe and Doyle will be heading for Crumlin, while Nerney is going to Clondalkin, Nazipov to Bridewell and O’Toole to Rathmines.
Well done to all the lads on their months of work and well-earned achievement.
We’re sure the streets will be a lot safer with you lads patrolling them!
