Sweet treats, heart shaped cupcakes and many creative bakes filled the school hall at Portlaoise Educate Together N.S. on Valentines Day.
This fundraising event never disappoints, as parents, grandparents and guardians of the children go above and beyond to make the most amazing baked goods for the children’s most loved event of the school year.
This year the Parents Association were blown away with the hard work put in by the pupils of the Student Council and the volunteer parents and grandparents who helped out on the day in what can only be described as Christmas Eve in Tesco.
Madness ensued as the children flooded in all day to buy their most cherished cup cakes and biscuits.
Needless to say, once again the event was sold out as empty trays piled up on the school halla’s stage.
This year the school topped it’s previous two years cake sale totals by raising a whopping €1,434
This amount means the PA have almost reached their target of funding for the school pitch with a few more events to go before the end of the school year.
The three schools on the campus have to raise €10k between them. Schools include the Educate Together, Gaelscoil and Maryborough.
The Campus Pitch project is well on target for 2019, said Hazel Marie Byrne of the PA, ‘we are just in awe of how much work the parents and children put in every year for this event, we can’t thank them enough for their support,’
