When someone from the showbiz world dishes out praise, you know you must be doing something good.
Dubliner Mary Byrne, who reached the semi finals of the X Factor in 2010, spent the weekend in Portlaoise where she stayed with her family in the Midlands Park Hotel.
And taking to her Facebook page afterwards, she told her 137,000 followers about the wonderful experience she had.
She said: “Having worked 9 weeks straight over Christmas at Panto and Shows, I finally had a few days rest with my family and what a spectacular hotel they choose!
“Midlands Park Hotel had the most incredible food and hospitality with amazing staff!
“Loved every second of it, batteries recharged and ready to go again! Look forward to coming back again soon!

Mary will be back in Laois soon as she is set to play a special concert in Portarlington Golf Club.
