To win an FAI Cup is a remarkable achievement. To win the FAI Cup, the league and development Shield is nothing short of remarkable.
That is exactly what three Laois women – Kylie Murphy, Orla Casey and Ciamh Gray – completed this season.
Graiguecullen native Murphy captains the side, and received a nomination for FAI Women’s Cup Player of the Year.
The incredible trio sat down with us as part of our LaoisToday Christmas Video Interview series.
Among the topics covered in the interview were how it felt to achieve the astonishing feat, injuries, professionalism in the sport and how coverage of women’s soccer has, ‘a whole hell of a long way to go’.
They also revealed their feelings after tv panelists suggested moving the FAI Cup final out of the Aviva stadium.
