A Portlaoise woman has directed a new fashion series for RTÉ Player – with one of the episodes being filmed in her home county.
Aisling Calt directed ‘Capsule’ by Areaman Productions and filmed an episode of the series in The Store Yard, Kea-Lew Business & Retail Park in Portlaoise.
‘Capsule’ aims to help women who say they’ve nothing to wear – despite having a wardrobe full of clothes.
Some of Ireland’s top fashion models and influencers – Louise Cooney, Joanna Cooper, Tara Stewart, Tara O’Farrell, Niamh O’Sullivan and Tara Muzaki – are giving their tips and tricks to effortless style and essential fashion items, their ‘Capsule’ wardrobe.
Aisling said that they wanted to create a show that included a wide range of diversity with women of different ethnic backgrounds and dress sizes.
“It was made especially for the new RTÉ Player and we wanted to create something that suited each individual’s looks and personality,” said Calt.
Aisling studied Film and Television and received a BA in English, Media and Cultural Studies in Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology.
She has been a producer in Areaman Productions for over three years.
Aisling was full of praise for both the staff and location of the Store Yard.
“I thought other local people might like to see how fab the location looks in the show!
“The team at the Store Yard were so accommodating and enthusiastic, it was a pleasure to shoot there, and clearly perfect for what we needed.”
‘Capsule’ can be found on RTÉ player here.
