The Cadet Choir appeared on Maura and Daithi this evening on RTE One – and there was a familiar face bang smack in the front row.
Luke Doran showed that his singing is just as good as his football skills as he belted out a beautiful song.
Doran and his colleague’s rendition of ‘Gaudete’ was truly beautiful and received a round of applause from the cast on the show when they finished.
Gaudete is a sacred Christmas carol, which is thought to have been composed in the 16th century sung with Medieval Latin lyrics.
Doran’s on field exploits have been equally impressive this year as he played a big role in Courtwood winning a league and championship double.
He kicked two points as Courtwood defeated St Joseph’s back in July to claim the Division 2 title.
Fast forward the clock to the end of September and Doran was in inspired form for his club in the IFC final.
They took on Mountmellick Gaels in the decider seeking his first victory at that level since 1987 and they did it with four points to spare.
Three of their 16 points came from Doran’s boot as Eddie Kinsella’s charges climbed up to the senior grade.
They went on to reach the Leinster semi final where eventual winners Two Mile House defeated them in Newbridge.
But it was certainly a great year for Luke and co – and you can check out his performance on the Maura and Daithi Show in full below:
