Road closures are in place and Gardai are at the scene of a crash on the Laois-Offaly border.
Gardai are attending the incident this Thursday evening close to Portarlington Golf Club at Garryhinch.
Motorists are advised to avoid that area if possible.
“The Portarlington/Mountmellick Rd (R423) is now closed between the Garryhinch jct and the golf club as emergency services deal with a collision,” say AA Roadwatch on their website.
Elsewhere there are reports of a fuel spill on the M7 northbound between J15 Ballybrittas and J14 Monasterevin.
Caution is advised on that stretch of road on the Laois-Kildare border.
