It has been all go in Arles NS recently with a host of different activities going down a treat.
A table quiz was held in Coolanowle to raise much needed funds for different activities at Arles NS.
There was a great atmosphere of friendly competition as the crowd gathered for an entertaining table quiz in the school.
It is an extremely active school with many ongoing projects such as green schools, active schools, peace proms, mini-scientist and junior entrepreneur programmes.
Generations of local people have been educated in the lovely national school building, which was officially opened in June 1961, in the place of the old school built in the church grounds in 1836.
The first pupils in the current building moved from the old school on 1 September 1961.
The school was extended in 1984 with two new classrooms and a general practice room and a further classroom was added in 2006.
The Arles NS parents’ association thanked everyone who gave their time to support the table quiz, which made an invaluable difference in providing funding for school activities.
Meanwhile, the Goal jersey day on Friday 12 October was also a great success, raising €95 for the charity that provides a wide range of humanitarian and development programmes across the world.
While the kids also all dressed up for Halloween.
