A great night’s entertainment is in store in the Welcome Inn on Friday as local soccer club Towerhill Rovers host a Race Night.
Towerhill Rovers were set up in 2012 by a group of friends in Portlaoise and have gone from strength to strength since.
They started out in Division 4 of the CCFL six years ago but are now near the top of Division 1, despite a slow start to the 2018-2019 season.
Money raised will go towards training equipment and running costs of the club.
Horses are available to purchase from any of the players – and a good night of craic, pints, good-humoured slagging and a raffle is assured!
The entertainment gets underway at 8.30pm.
The Race Night on Friday will continue a busy couple of days for the Welcome Inn. They will host their now weekly Table Quiz on Thursday night – a quiz with a difference that sees teams play on the phones.
The Welcome Inn have also teamed up with the nearby Mezza Pizza to offer a Pizza and Pint deal for just €10.
