Laois people are on some roll when it comes to appearing on Winning Streak at the moment.
Retired tailor, Vincent Keegan, from Portlaoise, won a tidy €27,000 back at the end of September.
While last night, Mary Flynn also from Portlaoise, took away a cool €19,000 and is planning a trip to Medjugorje with her friend Debbie.
The draw for the next episode of Winning Streak also took place last night and Marty pulled out another extremely well known face – Anthony Knowles.
The Ballyroan native is the dad of a little girl who we have all gotten to know very well this year – Mary Claire.
Two year old Mary-Claire captured the hearts of the nation back in September after she and her family appeared on the extremely well-received documentary ‘The Town’, which highlighted the lives of different people living in and around Portlaoise.
Mary-Claire has a life threatening illness, which has caused her to suffer from over 60 seizures in her short life so far.
The toddler suffers from a rare form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. This is characterised by prolonged seizures, sometimes causing developmental delays and can cause an increased risk of sudden unexplained death in epilepsy.
The family are currently battling to have medicinal cannabis legalised fully in Ireland so that it can be used to properly treat Mary Claire’s rare condition.
A fundraiser has since been set up for Mary-Claire and her parents as they try support the two year old as she receives specialist medication from England and also raise their two sons – Daniel and Anthony junior, who are aged three and six.
The fundraiser for Mary-Claire can be found here.
Winning Streak will not air next week because it is a Bank Holiday weekend.
That means that we will have to wait until November 3 to see how Anthony gets on in the big game show.
We really hope he gets to Spin that Wheel!!
