After all the rain and storms of late, this is the news we needed!!
Cathal Nolan of the Midlands Weather Channel is predicting that we are going to get an ‘Indian Summer’.
He says that while today has been cool, we can expect to see temperatures rise over the coming days.
And Nolan was the person who accurately predicted weeks in advance that the Ploughing Championships would be disrupted by bad weather – so he certainly seems to know what he is talking about.
He said: “Our weather is expected to become very settled over the coming weeks, with a large area of high pressure set to dominate conditions through the coming week, ensuring plenty of sunshine, dry conditions.
“Temperatures will vary over the coming week with cooler conditions likely on Monday and Tuesday as winds will be more northerly in direction, however through the second half of the week, winds will switch and come from a more southerly and southeasterly direction, bringing temperatures back above average for the time of year.
“From Thursday onwards, a large anticyclone will become established across the country, ensuring largely dry and sunny conditions, but with night frosts likely across the Midlands.”
We all hope Cathal is right again!
