Tributes have been paid for a man who died tragically at the weekend.
49-year-old Killeshin native Eamon O’Reilly was killed in a single vehicle incident.
O’Reilly, from Cappalug in Killeshin, was the sole occupant of the van he was driving which left the road and struck a ditch.
But Mr O’Reilly had suffered a cardiac arrest while driving and it is understood he passed away before the crash.
Parish Priest of Killeshin Fr John Dunphy said that Mr O’Reilly was a very decent family man.
He said: “He was a great man for his family and his church.
“His farm, his family and his church – that is what is important to him.”
Gardaí and Emergency Services attended the scene and Mr O’Reilly was pronounced dead a short time later.
His body was then removed to Portlaoise Hospital for a post-mortem examination and the local Coroner was notified.
Mr O’Reilly is survived by his wife Kathleen, his son Martin, his daughters Niamh and Katelyn and his mother Breda.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughters, mother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncle, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Mr O’Reilly will be reposing at his home (Eircode R93 PC91) on Tuesday with Prayers at 8pm.
Removal on Wednesday at 1.30pm to The Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, arriving for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
May he Rest in Peace.
