It’s a busy weekend of GAA action in Laois again – as we’re now at the quarter-final stage of the Senior and Senior ‘A’ Hurling championship as well as it being final day in the Laois Ladies football championships.
And on the first of our dedicated Laois GAA Podcasts, we look ahead to all of the weekend action.
We were joined by former Borris-Kilcotton and Clough-Ballacolla manager Tommy Buggy as those two clubs go head to head this Sunday in a mouth-watering game. That clash will be preceded by the other quarter-final between Rathdowney-Errill and Abbeyleix.
We also looked ahead to the SHC ‘A’ quarter-finals between Portlaoise and Shanahaoe and Colt Gaels and Rosenallis as well as the SHC ‘A’ relegation decider between neighbours Mountrath and Trumera. Indeed that relegation game is one that our analyst Tommy Buggy has an unusual take on.
As well as the hurling, we also preview the three ladies football finals which are being held in O’Moore Park this weekend.
Sarsfields and Portlaoise renew rivalries in the senior game for the third year running while Shanahoe meet Graiguecullen in the intermediate decider and St Paul’s take on Ballyfin in the junior final.
LaoisToday owner Steven Miller and reporter Siún Lennon look ahead to the ladies games.
As with our recent six-part UnLaoised series where we discussed a range of topics with a panel of guests on a weekly basis, the Podcast will once again be presented by Brian Moss.
Brian will be joined by guests from the club and county scene over the coming weeks as well as by some of the LaoisToday team who will be out and about covering the games.
One will preview the weekend action and will go out every Friday. The other will look back on the games, the talking points, the best performers and the big moments and will go live on the Monday after the weekend.
All of our GAA Podcasts are brought to you in association with Breslin’s SuperValu, Abbeyleix and Rathdowney.
