Lilly’s Bar and Restaurant is Portlaoise’s newest venue and has a strong GAA links, with Laois footballer Kieran Lillis at the helm and Dublin’s Bernard Brogan also involved.
This Thursday night, they’re holding a GAA Discussion night ahead of the All Ireland football final with a star-studded lineup of guests for what should be an entertaining event.
Lillis’s Laois team-mate Colm Begley will be one of the guests, along with Galway forward Damien Comer and Roscommon’s Enda Smyth. Former Laois player MJ Tierney is the MC for the evening while more guests will be confirmed before the event.
The lads will look ahead to Sunday’s All Ireland football final between Dublin and Tyrone as well as looking back on the championship to date, Laois’s run to the Leinster final and chatting about the various talking points in Gaelic football at the moment.
With Electric Picnic kicking off on Friday, there should be a good buzz about town lending itself to an entertaining and enjoyable format.
All money raised at Thursday’s GAA Discussion Night will go to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
Lilly’s Bar and Restaurant opened in June of this year under new ownership and as well as a lively weekend night trade has recently launched its lunch and evening food menus. It has also been considerably renovated and redesigned.
The nightclub is set to be re-opened later in the autumn.
