The Friends of the Portlaoise Hospital, a voluntary committee recently donated four Doppler Fetal Monitors to the Maternity Unit of The Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise.
Doppler Fetal Monitors are handheld ultrasound devices used to detect the baby’s heartbeat during pregnancy.
Ita Kinsella thanked the group for their generous donation. “The Maternity Services at the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise would sincerely like to acknowledge the generosity and on-going support of the Friends of Portlaoise Hospital in facilitating the purchase of four Fetal Doppler Devices. These devices are used to listen to the baby’s heartbeat in the womb.”
Recent fundraisers
Chairman of the Friends of Portlaoise Hospital, Dick Sydes, said: “We are delighted as a committee to be able to donate equipment to our hospital. These donations are solely down to the generosity of our community who donate to us and help us with fundraising.
Friends of Portlaoise hospital recently held a very successful table quiz which raised €1,343 for the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.
The Friends of the Portlaoise Hospital was established in April 1991 with the main objective being to raise funds to enhance patient comforts and care and to purchase medical equipment when requested by staff for The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.
