The main road between Portlaoise and Stradbally has reopened a week before the Electric Picnic.
Signs were erected last week stating that the main road, the N80, would be closed between August 21 and 29 from 7am to 6pm each day.
However, the road reopened fully after works to resurface part of the road and install improvements was completed.
The works were carred out by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
A Laois County Council spokesperson said: “Some element of road marking and lining is taking place today.
“As has been our standard practice since the commencement of the Electric Picnic no road works occur on the feeder roads the week before and after the Electric picnic each year.
“While the signs may have said the work would not finish until August 29, this may have been an error or else it could have been to allow for extra time if the project ran over.”
