A crash between a lorry and a car continues to cause serious traffic delays in Portlaoise this morning.
The crash occurred at the roundabout near St Peter and Paul’s church on the Dublin Road.
No-one hurt
Thankfully, there doesn’t appear to be anyone injured in the accident.
Traffic is reported to be backed up on both the Dublin road and the Stradbally road heading towards the roundabout.
An onlooker said, “The traffic here is blocked up all the from the Stradbally road to the Dublin road. There are cars in queues backed all the way up the Stradbally road.”
“The traffic doesn’t appear to be moving, or if it is, at a very slow pace,” he added.
Gardaí are due to arrive at the scene and hopefully traffic will ease by later on today.
