Gardaí are investigating an incident after a man had been driving in the wrong direction on a motorway in Laois.
In the early hours of yesterday morning, a man crashed into the median barrier of the M7, driving northbound on the southbound carraigeway.
The incident occurred between junction 17 Portlaoise Centre and junction 18 Portlaoise West.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise with non-life threatening injuries.
The road had been closed reopened on Monday around midday.
