A man has been re-arrested in relation to the case of a young Abbeyleix teenager who was tragically killed in a car accident last August.
Adam Case, 16, lost his life in a road accident in Tipperary when he was in a single vehicle incident that occurred at Boston on the Ballingarry North to Cloughjordan road.
Previously arrested
Gardai previously arrested the man on Wednesday March 21, under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The man, aged in his 20s, was released that same day and a file was prepared for the DPP.
LaoisToday understands that the same individual was re-arrested today and charged with dangerous driving causing death.
A Garda spokesperson said, “I can confirm that this is a live investigation, and An Garda Síochána cannot comment on ongoing investigations.”
Adam was fatally injured when the car he was a rear seat passenger crashed into a tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to University Hospital Limerick.
He was a student in St Brendan’s Community School Birr and a past student of the Abbeyleix South School.
