Details have been announced for Laois Vintage Limited’s Sponsored Road Run in aid of the Laois Hospice Foundation.
They launched the 23rd Annual Vintage Run in the Gandon Inn Hotel, Emo, on July 20.
The run takes place on Saturday August 18 at 10 at Treacy’s Restaurant and Bar in the The Heath.
The premier of vintage runs, it began raising funds for Laois Hospice in 1996. Since it’s conception 23 years ago the group have raised and donated €899,626 to the local hospice.
They credit such success to many dedicated vintage enthusiasts, bucket collectors and sponsors who generously commit their time and money.
For the 2018 run, they will be visiting Lullymore Heritage Park, Rathangan, Co Kildare. This is the only place in Ireland where you will gain a comprehensive insight into the peatlands of Ireland, and the people who lived around them for millennia.
There will be a return visit to Turley’s Pub in Mountmellick for light refreshments.
Vehicles will return to Tracey’s between 3.30 p.m and 4.00 p.m., where complimentary meals will be served and commemorative plaques distributed to each participant.
Laois Vintage Limited would like to assure sponsors and supporters alike that all monies raised will be donated directly to Laois Hospice Care, and the same is said to members of the public who give so generously.
The official closing date for entry is Friday 3 August and all completed entry forms should be forwarded to Ger Whelan, Clonkean, Mountrath Road, Portlaoise Co. Laois.
Tel: 087 2530124
Anyone who has not received an entry form is very welcome to join, however a donation on the day towards Laois Hospice will be appreciated.
