The HSE has lodged planning permission to revamp a hospital in Portlaoise.
The HSE Dublin Mid-Leinster intend to carry out extensions and alterations to St Fintan’s Hospital Portlaoise which is a protected structure.
The proposed works are extensive and involve a number of different parts.
There are plans to create a new two-storey extension within the existing internal courtyard on the north side of the main building.
They also intend to construct a new single storey extension to accommodate a new plant-room withing the same courtyard.
There will also be general refurbishment works carried out within the North side of the main building on both the ground and first floor.
They also intend to remove the existing Tulsa door and replace it with a new one.
