Gardai have launched an investigation following an assault in a Laois town.
Midlands 103 report that a man has been hospitalised following the incident.
Gardai are investigating after an assault in Mountmellick.
The victim in his 30s sustained injuries is said to have sustained to his head and ribs.
The incident is believed to have taken place around 8 o’clock on Thursday night.
Midlands 103 say that no arrests have been made.
