Timahoe National School will be raising the flag shortly in an event that will be attended by the The Army Band, who will, then play a short concert for the pupils.
How to get the Gaelbhratach flag
Gaeilge co-ordinator and teacher Anne Matthews explained to Midlands 103 the how they promote the language.
“It’s from junior infants right up to sixth class. It kind of goes across to the secretary and all, people coming in to the school might be speaking Irish,” said Anne.
“There’s loads of Irish around the environment, all over the walls, Irish is kind of everywhere.
“They’re delighted to get the flag because it’s not an easy process – there was loads of targets to meet,” she added.
