Old Fort Festival
The Old Fort Fesitval is taking place on Main Street and Fitzmaurcie Place this weekend. The launch takes place on Friday evening with music arts playing late into the night.
Family entertainment, games and fun will take place from 12pm to 7pm om Saturday and Sunday. Transmitter and Smash Hits will provide music late into the night with comedy acts all taking to the stage over the weekend too.
Disco in Pedigree Corner
Pedigree Corner is holding their Teen Disco from 8pm to 10.30pm this Friday night. Tickets cost €10 from Top Oil Garage Stradbally, Winkle’s Athy, Centra Ballylinan and Colgan’s Portlaoise.
An Evening with…
The Balcony Theatre in Mountmellick are a staging, ‘An Evening with…’ at 8pm. The night features Mountmellick Men’s Shed and Variety group.
Slieve Bloom Macra
Slieve Bloom Macra AGM is being held in Poole’s Lounge, Rosenallis, at 9pm.

Abbeyleix 20k Drop
Abbeyleix GAA are holding a major fundraiser ’20k drop’ at 8.30pm.
Each of the 8 contestants selected will receive €2,500 and must place their money on each of the 8 correct answers. Having answered the 8 questions, the contestants keep the remaining amount.
Flowers and Crafts market Portlaoise
A flower and craft market will take place in Hynds Square, just off Main Street, Portlaoise. It starts at 10am with all local businesses on the day.
Fun Run in Emo
Sarsfields Ladies Football club are holding a Fun Run in Emo GAA Grounds. Children’s 1km begins at 6.45pm and the adult’s 5km begins at 7km.
Stradbally Strawberry and Cream
Stradbally Country Markets will hold a fundraising Strawberry andd Cream event in conjunction with their weekly market in St Patrick’s Hall, Stradbally, between 10am and 1pm.
The fundraiser goes towards resources for Motor Neurone Disease patients.
Walking Day trip

Ballyfin Vintage Road Run
Ballyfin Vintage and Veteran club at holding their eighth annual road run from the community hall in Ballyfin at 2pm. Proceeds from the day will go to local charities.
Laois in the Leinster Final
Of course who can forget that Laois are out in the Leinster Final this Sunday at 4pm, and LaoisToday will be giving coverage before, during and after the match for the day. Laois Abú!
