Ballyadams received their Active School Flag this afternoon with the help of Laois senior footballer Colm Begley.
The Stradbally man is preparing for the Leinster senior football final against Dublin on Sunday but took some time out to help the primary school celebrate being rewarded with a flag to note how they promotion activity among their kids.
The boys and girls decked out in their blue and white ahead of the big game and excitement was electric as they cheered and chanted.
They also had two teams playing a football match during their lunch break – Kerry faced Galway this week with seven students a side.
Colm Begley made a speech to the students about the importance of keeping active and getting involved with sport.
He said: “It is not only for your health, but it’s a great way to make friends too.”
He noted to stay active, stay positive and always give it your best shot.
Our photographer went along and captured the best of the action:
