What sort of a county would you be if you got to a final and you didn’t have a song?
Twelve-year-old Ross Molloy from Stradbally has answered his county’s call and has wrote and performed a new song for the Laois football team heading to the Leinster final.
Not his first catchy tune
This isn’t Ross’s first time to write a song for a team he loves. In 2016, he wrote a song for the Stradbally senior footballers when they reached the Laois senior football final.
The message in Ross’s song must have worked, because Stradbally made history when the won the senior county final and stopped old rivals Portlaoise from getting their coveted 10-in-a-row.
We invited the young singer/songwriter at LaoisToday headquarters, along with parents Paul and Liz, to perform his new song for us.
The Molloy’s are GAA mad. Liz, Paul and Ross never miss a game and Ross’ sisters Lavina and Leanne always come to on what are treasured family outings.
Ross’s song is simply called ‘Leinster Final’ and you can have a listen to it here:
