One man has been arrested following a drugs seizure yesterday.
The incident occurred following a planned search by the task force in Aghaboe, Borris-In-Ossory, Laois.
Drugs with an estimated value of just under €40,000 were seized.
This is said to be made up of €35,000 in cocaine and €4,000 in cannabis herb.
One man, aged 30, was arrested and is currently detained in Portlaoise Garda Station.
The seizure comes less than a week after a similar find in Portarlington.
€50,000 worth of herbal cannabis was recovered and two men, who were arrested at the time, are understood to be local men.
They were later released without charge however.
