John retired An Garda Siochana, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary, daughters Marian, Siobhan, Càit and son Bernard, his brother Eamon (Ned), sister Norah, brothers in law Paddy, Brian and Noel, sons in law, daughter in law, nieces, nephews, his nine grandchildren and a large circle of friends.
Reposing at his daughter Marian Allen’s residence, Swan Road, Durrow from 2pm – 9pm on Saturday 9th June with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Sunday morning at 10.30am to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Durrow arriving at 11am for Requeim Mass with burial immediately afterwards in adjoining cemetery. May John rest in peace.
Walter Hurley
Rath-Hurley, Cappanafeacle, Ballyadams, Laois
Died 7th June 2018, suddenly, at his residence, Walter. Brother of the late Marie. Deeply regretted by his loving brother Gerald, nephews Henry and Walter, cousins, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy from 6pm on Friday with Rosary at 8pm. Removal at 10.30am on Saturday morning to arrive at St. Joseph’s Church, Ballyadams for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the Old Cemetery, Ballyadams.
Paul O’Connell
Lucan, Dublin / Mountmellick, Laois
Paul (Lucan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Mountmellick, Co. Laois) June 6th, 2018 (peacefully) at his home. Beloved husband of the late Bridget and dear father of Mark and David. Sadly missed by his loving sons, granddaughter Hannah, brothers Desmond and Mark, sister Mary, relatives and friends. Reposing at his home on Sunday afternoon (10th June) from 3pm to 6pm. Removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Esker, Lucan on Monday morning arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am followed by burial in Esker Cemetery.

Carroll, Michael, Borris Rd., Portlaoise and late of Timahoe, Co. Laois. Suddenly on June 4th 2018. Predeceased by his brother Martin and sister Lulu. Deeply regretted by his daughter Natalie, son Evan, parents Michael and Angela, sisters Emer, Angie, and Breíd, brothers Damien, Fergal, and Enda, also Angela, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace. Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home, Portlaoise from 5 pm on Thusday evening with rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Friday to St. Michael’s Church, Timahoe to arrive for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in Timahoe Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to a charity of your choice.
Edward (Eddie) Baldwin
Ballyfoyle, Maganey, Laois / Kilmacthomas, Waterford
Edward passed away peacefully in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Predeceased by his son Billy and his grandson Anthony. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Agnes, sons John, Hugh, Patsy, Eamon, Peter, Paul, Bernard, Anthony and his daughter Mary. Sadly missed by his daughters-in-law, partners, his 28 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, neighbours and a large circle of friends. May Edward Rest In Peace. Edward will be Reposing at his residence from 2pm on Thursday, with Recital of the Rosary at 8pm Thursday evening. Removal on Friday morning at 11.15am to arrive at Saint Abban’s Church, Killeen for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in adjoining cemetery. House private on Friday morning please.

Jimmy Tobin, Church Road, 4 The Glebe, Stradbally, Co Laois, and formerly 1 Shannon Tce, Kilmainham, Dublin 8. Suddenly at his home. Predeceased by his dear mother Lily. Lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife Maura, dad Bill, brothers Liam and Noel, sisters Mary and Sharon, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at his home this Saturday from 3pm with recital of the Rosary on Tuesday evening at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday, 6th June, to The Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally for 12 noon Funeral Mass. Cremation afterwards in Glasnevin Crematorium.
Katherine Fennelly (neé Purcell)
Derrynaserra, Coolrain, Co.Laois
Died 1st June 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital Mountmellick, surrounded by her loving family, predeceased by her husband Canice, sadly missed by her daughters Josephine, Mary, Veronica and Bernadette, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, sons-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at the residence of Josephine and Kieran (Derrynaserra) from 5 o’clock on Saturday evening, with Rosary at 9 o’clock. Removal on Sunday morning to St. Fergal’s Church Camross, for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
No flowers please, donations if desired to St. Mary’s Unit, St. Vincent’s Hospital Mountmellick.
