Parents and local well-wishers alike called out to Arles NS as they celebrated their Open Day on Tuesday, May 29.
The five-teacher school was originally built in 1961. Due to increasingly numbers of people moving to the area, the school previously needed extensions in 1984 and in 2006.
Arles NS felt that holding an open day to invite the community in would promote all the good work the school is doing.
Active in the community
The Ballickmoyler school engage themselves in every aspect of learning – from Easter cake sales to Peace Proms and everything in between.
Teacher Caroline Mahon spoke about holding the open day to invite the public in.
“We’re a small school but we do so much here – speech and drama, rounders, even German. We’re just trying to show all the good work the pupils and staff do,” said Ms Mahon.
“For our open day we displayed the pupils art, pottery and handwriting. The older classes made a Connectix demonstration,” she added.
Arles NS also celebrated World Book Day in March – and sent in some great photos of the day.
