Mountmellick will be filled with Irish music as the Laois Fleadh gets underway this June bank holiday weekend.
The atmosphere will be electric with dancing competitions on Friday night and all through Saturday and Sunday in Mountmellick Community School.
O’Connell Square will play host to a family fun day and gig rig on Sunday afternoon from 3pm to 6pm while a Céilí Mór will take place in Owenass Hall on Monday.
Among the incredible 438 entries are 16 Grupaí Cheoil with up to 20 members in each. There is also a similiar number of Ceili Bands with ten members each.

Ceilis and Set Dancing at the Arts Centre at 7pm.
Saturday June 2
Ceili Bands/Grupaí/Bodhrán/Ceili Drumming from 11am. Adult competitions at 6.30pm.
Sunday June 3
Solo/Duet/Trio at Mountmellick CS from 1.30pm and Gig Rig in O’Connell Square at 3pm.
Monday June 4
Ceili dancing with music from Glenside Ceili Band in the Owenass Hall from 3pm to 6pm.
