In Pictures: Ballyfin 5K Deadman’s Dash a huge success

The sixth staging of the Deadman’s Dash was another success.

135 participants took to the 5km course.

The Deadman’s Dash 5k will took place on Sunday with prizes for the first five senior men and women as well as the much coveted Johnny Ryan Memorial Cup, a perpetual trophy in honour of the great Ballyfin clubman Johnny Ryan.

Cash prizes for first 5 Senior Men and Women of €100, €80, €60, €40 and €20 – and the much coveted Johnny Ryan Memorial Cup to the outright winner.

Runners took an anti-clockwise direction past the community hall and Ballyfin Demesne, around the Deadman’s Inn and ended up at the finish line in front of the old school in Ballyfin.

It was a mostly straight run with a few hills thrown in for good measure.

This was also the fourth year of JuniorDASH, a competitive race for Junior boys and girls with prizes for the first three Junior boys and girls.

There was also various kidsDash races prior to the main race, with each child receiving a medal for taking part.

The first man across the line was Cyrill Cuddy and he was followed by Aindriu O Comhraidhe, Dave O’Mahoney, Cian McDonald and Adam Holden.

The first female across the line was Mary Mulhare who came in seventh overall.
