It was all sun and fun at Majella’s Montessori in Mountmellick as four local firemen called out to the children today Friday May 25.
Jason Maher, John Smith, Brian Comerford and Mick Bishop brought their fire truck and jeep out to the montessori in Acagar.
This is the first time the firemen have called out to the montessori and all 16 children got to try the water hose used in putting out fires, sit in the truck and get pictures beside the jeep.
New recruits
The Mountmellick Fire Service may have picked up some new recruits on the day as all the children were beaming ear to ear after the visit.
“It was great, the children loved it and they learnt a lot,” said teacher Jenny McPartland.
Three of the girls in the montessori have fathers in Mountmellick fire service, and were proud to have their daddies visiting on the day.
