The May bank holiday weekend will see a plenty of classic cars and vintage tractors converge upon the Rock Inn, for the 17th Rock Inn Vintage Run and Rally.
There will be something for everyone over the course of the two days, in what will be a real family day of fun and entertainment, as well as a chance for people to raise funds for the Laois Hospice.
The two day event kicks off on the Saturday, May 5th, with the eagerly anticipated Vintage Tractor and Car Run, kicking off at 2.30pm at the Rock Inn.
The run will take two separate routes, for cars and tractors. A number of 30 plus tractors is estimated to be taking to the road as well as a large number classic cars which will be surely shining in the predicted sunny bank holiday weekend.
The main event will commence on the Sunday as the Rally takes centre stage at the Rock Inn, where a congregation of steam engines, vintage tractors, classic cars as well as a number old vintage machinery will take over the surrounding field.
Bouncing castles and numerous other attractions will be at hand for the younger attendees, which will all be enclosed for to keep the kids safe.
Also there will yet another garden shed up for raffle, an auto jumble and plenty of antique stalls. A threshing demonstration will be taking place as well, while there will be refreshments available all weekend in the bar.
On the Sunday night, the Rock Inn will then play host to a Cabaret where Seamus Moore will take to the stage. Tickets cost €7.50. Admission to a day at the rally costs €5.
With it being the 17th edition of this great event, the rally has certainly come a long way and it is now one the best vintage rallies that takes place in the county. Raising funds for the Laois Hospice provides great incentive for people to get involved.
