Portlaoise AFC soccer club was the victim of a break in last night.
The attack came just a short few hours after Ger Dunne’s senior team enjoyed a massive win in the Leinster Senior League.
A post on the club’s Facebook page called the whole ordeal ‘infuriating’.
They said: “Really disappointing news to circulate. The clubhouse was broken into last night.
“Window broken, locks broken, place turned upside down. Nothing of any value to anyone outside the club is EVER left in there.
“Quite frustrating and infuriating to every volunteer who puts time and effort in down there for players of all age groups, to see such things happen.”
Speaking to LaoisToday, chairman Michael Coleman described the attack as senseless.
He said: “They gained entry to the clubhouse by smashing a window near the showers and got in that way.
“They then made their way through and ransacked offices and cabinets.
“Nothing of real value was taken but it is the nuisance of it all that is the worst thing.”
