Emergency services are attending an incident in Portlaoise this morning.
Gardai and ambulance services have been called after a man collapsed in the town.
The incident took place just a short time ago.
It seems that the man collapsed while crossing the road at the traffic lights across from Supermacs.
Traffic was delayed for a time while emergency services tended to the stricken man.
He has since been taken to hospital where his condition is unknown.
