Gardai are appealing for information following an arson attack in Portarlington.
Speaking on Midlands 103, Crime Prevention Officer Graham Kavanagh revealed that the incident took place on Saturday March 31.
Dr White’s surgery had the back door of its premises set on fire.
He said: “Around 9.30pm early enough in the evening, an individual or individuals set fire to the rear door of Dr White’s Surgery on Station Road in Portarlington.
“It caused smoke damage and it was lucky enough it didn’t cause any major structural damage to the building.
“I’m appealing to anyone who would have been in a nearby car park or in the location at the time and saw vehicles leaving and going to the scene at the time to let us know.
“Nothing was taken, it was just arson. But it could have closed down the surgery on the doctor.”
