Gardai have sezied a substantial sum of cocaine following a raid at a house in Laois.
€56,000 worth of the drug was discovered following a search of a house at Landsdown Court in Portarlington.
The search took place on Friday night at 8.50pm
The Divisional Drugs Unit, assisted by armed Regional Support Unit and the Divisional Task Force, searched property.
The raid took place on the same night that canabis herb with an estimated street value of €1.6 million was found at a premises in Carlow.
A large sum of cash was also recovered and two men were arrested.
“As part of ongoing investigations being conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, targeting serious and organised cross jurisdictional criminal activity with the assistance of Europol, a search was carried out at a premises located on Tullow Road, Carlow,” said a Garda press release.
