Sprinklings of snow did not stop the people of Portarlington celebrating their parade in style today.
The parade was on later than most at half 3, but the crowds still lined the streets
It seemed nearly everyone in Portarlington was involved in the parade – from St Patrick’s Boys National School to Burbage Dance school to the recently-formed Banríon Gaels camogie team.
The presentation convent provided music in the parade and the fourth to sixth class girls played out a medley of Irish tunes.
A whole day out
There was also amusements and food stalls galore to keep the crowds entertained throughout the day.
