A man missing from near Athy has been found deceased, gardaí have confirmed.
Gardaí in Athy earlier today appealed for the public’s help in tracing 25 year old Keith Wright McCarthy who has been reported missing from Castlemitchell, Athy, Co Kildare since March 14.
He was described as being approximately 5’5″, of slight build, with blue eyes.
Keith was last seen wearing blue jeans, white runners, and a dark and light blue jacket.
Keith may also have been wearing a red peaked cap.
His father Kevin McCarthy posted on social media yesterday saying he was last seen at approximately 12.10 walking towards Athy from Castlemitchell.
“If anyone has seen him or knows where he is, can you please contact us or Athy Garda Station,” his father said.
However, the garda press office confirmed the news this afternoon that the missing man has been located deceased.
Castlemitchell is close to Laois border, between Vicarstown/Stradbally and Athy.
It hosted the National Ploughing Championships from 2009 to 2011.
