After months and months of waiting, the announcement many of us have been waiting for is here.
The Electric Picnic have made their first line up announcement for the 2018 festival and it includes some real humdingers.
Kendrick Lamar, Massive Attack and N.E.R.D. have been confirmed this morning as the headline acts.
Other acts confirmed are: Dua Lipa, Ben Howard, St. Vincent, King Krule, George Ezra, The Kooks, Jungle, Wolf Alice, Chvrches, Nina Kraviz, Cigarettes After Sex, Friendly Fires, Garbage, Dermot Kennedy, Benjamin Clementine, Sigrid, Jessie Ware, Jorja Smith, Mount Kimie, Tom Misch, The Blaze, Stefflon Don, Peggy Gou, Yxng Bane, Field Music, Alexis Taylor, Sevdaliza, Lucy Dacus, La Femme, Inne Circle, Jordan Rakei, Raye, Gang of Youths, Nilufer Yanya, Scarlxrd, Yellow Days, Hak Baker and Tom Tripp.
The festival takes place from August 31 to Septemeber 2 this year in Stradbally Hall – the estate owned by the Cosby family.
And it is sure to once again be the highlight of the summer for thousands of music, comedy, arts and dance lovers of all ages.
The final round of weekend tickets went on sale at 9am last Saturday morning for those who still haven’t managed to get their hands on some.
Weekend camping tickets are still available online but are expected to sell out very quickly.
While Sunday tickets are now completely sold out.
The Electric Picnic is highly beneficial to the people of Laois.
A study last year found that it generated €8 million for the county.
And almost half of that was said to have been spent in Stradbally.
