The full effect of the Beast from the East and Storm Emma is still being felt – and another big event has fallen by the wayside for this weekend.
Confirmation in Camross – for students from Killenure and Camross – was due to be held this Sunday, March 4, but has now been postponed because of the weather.
It follows on from the cancellations of confirmations in Ballaghmore and Stradbally on Saturday.
“Due to the extension of the Red Alert weather status, confirmation which due to take place ths Sunday 4th March in Camross is now postponed to Sunday March 11th 11am,” said the Camross NS Parents Council in post on Facebook this morning.
“The decision has been made in the best interest of the safety of all our pupils and families.”
The Stradbally confirmation has also been re-arranged for the same day – which is also Mother’s Day.
The postponement of the confirmations has a knock-on effect on those who do considerable business from these big days – such as caterers and bouncing castle providers.
Bingo in Camross on Friday night and the monthly dancing on Saturday has also been cancelled.
