A well-known publican in Laois is offering a new service this week as the county is covered in snow and driving conditions are very difficult.
Lar Hogan, who owns the renowned Sheeran’s pub in Coolrain, is offering an ambulance service of sorts – to bring people to hospital or necessary medical appointments over the next couple of days.
“Everyone is just trying to do their best to help out, myself and some friends,” said Lar when contacted by LaoisToday. “We will do our best to assist people of Camross parish if anyone requires a lift for hospital emergencies only.
“This morning we had a woman who is a carer and who had to get to three elederly patients, so it was great that we could help her get to her patients,
“It can be quite a stressful time for anyone who is unwell and needs help”.
For anyone in the Camross Parish who needs to get to a hospital or somewhere in an emergency get in contact with Lar on 086 807 8842.
Other locals are also on hand with Lar to help anyone who has to get to Middoc or the hospital.
